1681.            The official state mammal of Texas is the armadillo.

1682.            The word Himalayas means the "home of snow."

1683.            A man filed a lawsuit against his doctor because he survived longer than what the
    doctor had predicted.

1684.            One of the reasons marijuana is illegal today because cotton growers in the 30s
    lobbied against hemp farmers -- they saw it as competition. It is not chemically
    addictive as is nicotine, alcohol, or caffeine.

1685.            It took approximately 2.5 million blocks to build the Pyramid of Giza, which is one of
    the Great Pyramids.

1686.            The platypus uses its bill to find animals that it feeds on. Its bill can sense the tiny
    electric fields that their preys emit.

1687.            Central Park located in New York has 125 drinking fountains.

1688.            The largest school in the world is City Montessori School in India and has over
    25,000 students in grade levels ranging from kindergarten to college.

    a special technology to make the stamps look like diamonds and opals.
