Johannesburg: The families of missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 are initiating a crowd-funding campaign to raise a fund of 3 million dollars to be handed out to whoever gives whistleblower information about the missing jet.

Sarah Bajc, whose partner Philip Wood, 50, was on the flight when it disappeared on March 8 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, said that families of passengers onboard the missing MH370 are taking matters into their own hands.

According to News.com.au and as reported by USA Today, an additional fund of US 2 million dollars is also being sought for private investigators to pursue leads.

The fund called 'Reward MH370: The Search for the Truth' will be launched on the indigogo website on Monday.

Bajc said that the campaign has been initiated by passengers' relatives from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, France and India, but not China or Malaysia, the report added.
