AIRASIA QZ8501 PLANE CRASH - Flight attendant's message from plane - 'I love you from 38,000ft'

AirAsia flight QZ8501 crash: Flight attendant's message from plane - 'I love you from 38,000ft'

Khairunnisa Fauzi posted the picture for her boyfriend two weeks ago

The flight attendant whose body was recovered from the sea today left a message from an AirAsia plane in one of her last posts on social media.

Just two weeks before the crash, Khairunnisa Haidar Fauzi posted a picture on her Instagram account of the words “I love you from 38,000ft” written on a napkin placed on a cabin window, showing the blue sky and aircraft’s wing outside.

It was believed to be addressed to the 22-year-old’s boyfriend, Divo, who is mentioned in several of her posts, most recently with their names engraved in sand on a beach.

It was unclear whether the photo was taken on flight route QZ8501, which crashed into the Java Sea on its way from Indonesia to Singapore on Sunday, killing all 162 people on board.
Known to her friends as Nisa, the former law student was pursuing her dreams of working for the airline as a flight attendant.

She has been identified by local media, who said her name tag was still pinned on her uniform when she was found.

Officials have confirmed that the body of an air stewardess was among the four men and three women recovered so far.

Miss Fauzi’s father described his “beautiful and smart” daughter and said he and his wife had last seen her six weeks ago.

“This is what we expected, and the sooner the body is returned, the sooner we can have her back,” Haidar Fauzi told Fairfax Media.

He said he and his wife were not distraught, “because we only borrowed our daughter from God and now he has taken her back.

"We plan on burying her back in our home town, Palembang. We've been promised they will facilitate it.”

Miss Fauzi had been a flight attendant for two years and posted several pictures from in the air on social media.

One pictured her in her uniform in the aisle of a plane and another showed “Love Divo” spelled out by her silhouetted fingers against windows.

Friends and well-wishers were commenting on her picture today as the news of her death spread. “RIP Nisa,” one read. “You’re gone but not forgotten.”

The operation to recover the rest of the victims and the plane, spotted below the surface of the Java Sea off the coast of Borneo, will re-start tomorrow morning.
