MYSTERIOUS DEATHS - Mysterious celeb deaths

They were all famous. And their deaths shrouded in mystery

even now. Here’s a list

1

On June 3, 2013 Jiah Khan was found dead in her house in Mumbai. The industry was shocked. First reports suggested suicide; but later her mother Rabia Khan came out in the open and blamed Suraj Pancholi for her daughter's death. Suraj was arrested and then later let go. The question remains, did Jiah commit suicide? We are not sure.

On 5 April 1993 Divya Bharati who was recently married to producer Sajid Nadiadwala fell to her death from her five-storey apartment in Versova. Despite much speculation – was it suicide? was it murder? – the investigation reached a dead end and the case was closed in 1998.

3

On 10 October, 1964, Guru Dutt succeeded with his third suicide attempt. When found dead in his rented flat at Peddar Road, the actor-director of some of the most acclaimed movies from the Hindi film industry (‘Kaagaz ke Phool’ and ‘Pyaasa’ being his two most cherished creations), was suspected of an overdose of sleeping pills mixed with alcohol.

4

Nafisa Joseph hanged herself in her Versova pad on July 29, 2004. A botched love affair was said to be the reason for her depression, even though her fiancĂ©-to-be made it quite clear that he had no role to play, the police reports throws a shadow of doubt towards him.

5

Silk Smitha was found dead in her apartment in Chennai. A botched up love affair, failure as a producer and acute alcoholism were cited as the reasons for her suicide. But there were many who said it was murder.

6

The Mauritius-born model became a household name in the 1990s thanks to the Kama Sutra campaign. As her modeling career began to fade, she attempted to start fresh in Bombay with an innings in event management. On June 25, 2010, she was found hanging from a ceiling fan. A notebook in her room had a page that read, “You Killed Me, Gautam Vohra.” This again highlighted Babajee’s instability for a regular break-up had unhinged her so badly.

7

Parveen Babi was so paranoid that she would only consume Coca Cola and eggs, the only two items she believed her would-be assassins could not contaminate. She was found dead in her apartment with complications related to diabetes in 2004.

8

Meena Kumari was an amazing actress - but her personal life was full of small troubles. A peg of brandy which began as a relaxing drink led to many pegs and finally liver cirrhosis – her fights with husband Kamal Amrohi over many things added to all the other woes.

9

Priya Rajvansh had been Chetan Anand’s live-in companion for many years. After Anand’s death, she inherited some property along with Chetan Anand’s sons Ketan Anand and Vivek Anand. Rajvansh’s handwritten letters nailed veteran actor Dev Anand’s nephews who, in connivance with their employees, killed Priya Rajvansh. In her last days, Rajvansh wrote anxiety-ridden letters fearing for her life, a premonition that indeed came true on that fatal.

10

The Los Angeles Coroner's Office ruled Brittany Murphy's death to be accidental - attributed to multiple-drug intoxication, pneumonia and iron-deficiency anemia. But her dad did not go by it. He pushed further and further toxicology reports showed presence of 10 heavy metals above the high level set by WHO.

11

Heath Ledger was found dead by his masseuse and housekeeper one afternoon. The star was naked and unconscious on the floor in his house when he was found. There were pills scattered all around. Was it an accident or suicide?

12

David Carradine, the Kill Bill star's death is shrouded in mystery. He was found dead tied up and the reason of death was asphyxiation. Dr. Michael Baden, who was hired by the late actor's family says "He didn't die of natural causes, and he didn't die of suicidal causes from the nature of the ligatures around the body, so that leaves some kind of accidental death"

13

Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles. Was it a prescription drug overdose or murder? Stories are all we have.

14

Bruce Lee's death has been linked to American Mafia, a curse that runs in his family and drug abuse. Though offically, his death was listed as cerebral edema caused by a hypersensitive reaction to the muscle relaxant.

15

Playboy pinup girl. Her marriage. Tabloids loved her. And then she was found dead in a hotel room in the Bahamas soon after the death of her son.

16

Princess Diana's death is something which we can never forget. Was her death staged by the Royal family? Rumours abound.

17

Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain was found dead by an electrician who arrived to install a security system. He had been dead for days. There was a shotgun pointing to his head; later tests revealed too much heroin in his system. So who pulled the trigger?

18

The coroner's report states that Jimi Hendrix choked on his own vomit while intoxicated with sedatives. There are reports that he had a huge quantity of wine in him during the time of death. The inquiry is inconclusive till date.

19

Way back in 1947, Elizabeth Short was an aspiring actor. And then, one day she was found murdered. Her body naked and severed in two in a vacant lot in Hollywood. Now, decades after a former LAPD homicide detective Steve Hodel has claimed to have solved the mystery – the killer, he claims was his own dad. However there is no proof.

20

Bob Marley first discovered that something was wrong in 1977 when he injured his foot while playing soccer with some friends. Marley was diagnosed with melanoma which led to his death. Officially. But then, there is that story of CIA wanting to murder him.

21

Jim Morrison died of a heart attack in a Paris bathtub. No autopsy was done. Did he overdose on drugs? Was there foul play? Did he even die?

22

Marilyn Monroe of an overdose of sedatives. Was it suicide? Given her social and political connections there were speculations that she was murdered.

23

Elvis Presley died in 1977 officially, but sightings continue.

24

Natalie Wood met her end while on a yachting trip with her husband Robert Wagner and their guest Christopher Walken. But years afterward the boat’s skipper claimed he heard the couple argue and he also mentioned that Wagner impeded the search for the star by refusing to turn on the lights or call for help.

25

According to Huffington Post the official cause of death is suicide. George Reeves was found laying naked on his bed, face up, with a gun between his feet on the floor -- many believe he was the victim of an accidental shooting or murder. It was rumored that George's former girlfriend, Toni Mannix, ordered a hit on him after he broke up with her.

Kekayaan tidak saksama boleh

undang rasuah, titah Sultan Nazrin

Sultan Nazrin Shah berkata rakyat miskin lebih terdedah dengan rasuah kecil-kecilan, sambil menasihati kerajaan tidak mengendahkan realiti kekayaan tidak sama rata. – Gambar fail, 1 Oktober, 2014.

Sultan Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah hari ini mengingatkan
Putrajaya supaya berhenti menafikan kewujudan

RM2,000 sebulan.

Ia juga menunjukkan 78.6% pencarum Kumpulan Wang
Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP) berpendapatan kurang RM3,000
sebulan.

– 1 Oktober, 2014.

EBOLA VIRUS - As U.S. sees its first Ebola case, learn how the virus spreads

How will the U.S. contain Ebola case?

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • Ebola is spread by someone who has become sickened by the virus
  • From there, the actual transmission occurs through contact of bodily fluids
  • Those bodily fluids include sweat, blood, feces
(CNN) -- As the worst Ebola outbreak in history touches the United States with the diagnosis of the first case within America, questions arise about how the infectious virus is spread.
Ebola is spread by someone who is ill and showing symptoms of the virus. As people with the virus become sicker, they become more infectious, experts say.
"Remember, Ebola doesn't spread before someone gets sick," Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said Tuesday. "Ebola does not spread from someone who's not infectious. It does not spread from someone who doesn't have fever and other symptoms.

CNN reporter talks about covering Ebola
"So, it's only someone who's sick with Ebola who can spread the disease," Frieden said.
CDC Director Dr. Tomas Frieden notes that only a person showing symptoms can spread the disease.
CDC Director Dr. Tomas Frieden notes that only a person showing symptoms can spread the disease.
The transmission of the virus occurs through contact with bodily fluids -- such as blood, sweat and feces -- from infected humans or animals.
According to the CDC's website, "Health care providers caring for Ebola patients and the family and friends in close contact with Ebola patients are at the highest risk of getting sick because they may come in contact with infected blood or body fluids of sick patients."
The virus cannot travel through the air, like a cold or flu virus.
"This is not an airborne transmission," said Dr. Marty Cetron, director of CDC's Division of Global Migration and Quarantine. "There needs to be direct contact frequently with body fluids or blood."
Although a transmission could occur when someone shakes the sweaty hand of an infectious person -- the uninfected person would have to have a break in the skin of their hand that would allow entry of the virus, said CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta.
"Keep in mind, this is something that's spread through bodily fluids," Gupta said. "Once somebody starts to get sick, it means the virus is being excreted in their bodily fluids. Shake hands with somebody ... and you think I don't have breaks in my skin, (but) we all have minor breaks in our skin. And there is a possibility that some of the virus can be transmitted that way."
Medecins Sans Frontieres says that while the virus is believed to be able to survive for some days in liquid outside an infected organism, agents such as chlorine, heat, direct sunlight, soaps and detergents can kill it.
What about planes? Can fellow passengers become infected if someone on the flight has the virus? Could Ebola spread around the world via air travel?
While the CDC acknowledges it is possible a person infected with Ebola in West Africa could get on a plane and arrive in another country -- which is apparently what happened in the U.S. case -- the chances of the virus spreading during the journey are low.
"It's very unlikely that they would be able to spread the disease to fellow passengers," said Stephan Monroe, deputy director of CDC's National Center for Emerging Zoonotic and Infectious Diseases.
"The Ebola virus spreads through direct contact with the blood, secretions or other body fluids of ill people, and indirect contact -- for example with needles and other things that may be contaminated with these fluids."
Travelers should take precautions by avoiding areas experiencing outbreaks and avoiding contact with Ebola patients.
"It is highly unlikely that someone suffering such symptoms would feel well enough to travel," the International Air Transport Association said.
CNN's Susannah Cullinane and Madison Park contributed to this report.

EBOLA VIRUS - First Ebola case diagnosed in the US

The first case of the deadly Ebola virus diagnosed on US soil has been confirmed in Dallas, Texas.
Officials at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital say the unidentified patient is being kept in isolation.
The man is thought to have contracted the virus in Liberia before travelling to the US nearly two weeks ago.
More than 3,000 people have already died of Ebola in West Africa and a small number of US aid workers have recovered after being flown to the US.
Monitoring
"An individual travelling from Liberia has been diagnosed with Ebola in the United States," Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Thomas Frieden told reporters on Tuesday.
According to Mr Frieden, the unnamed patient left Liberia on 19 September and arrived in the US the next day to visit relatives, without displaying any symptoms of the virus.

Symptoms of the virus became apparent on 24 September, and on 28 September he was admitted to a Texas hospital and put in isolation.
The disease, which is not contagious until symptoms appear, is spread via close contact with bodily fluids.
Aid workers who caught Ebola in West Africa have come back to the US for treatment but this is the first case of a patient developing the virus on US soil, says the BBC's Alastair Leithead in Los Angeles.
A hospital official told reporters on Tuesday the facility already had procedures in place to deal with any such potential cases.
Preliminary information indicates that the unnamed patient, who was described as critically ill, was not involved in treating Ebola-infected patients while in Liberia.
Health officials are working to identify all people who came into contact with the unnamed patient while he was infectious.
Those people will then be monitored for 21 days to see if an Ebola-related fever develops.
According to Mr Frieden, it is possible a family member who came in direct contact with the patient may develop Ebola in the coming weeks.

But "the bottom line here is I have no doubt that we will control this importation, this case of Ebola, so it does not spread widely in this country," he added. "We will stop it here."
The World Health Organization (WHO) says more than 3,000 people have died of the virus so far, mostly in Liberia.
Earlier on Tuesday, the CDC said the Ebola virus seemed to be contained in Nigeria and Senegal, with no new cases reported there for almost a month.
It is the world's most deadly outbreak of the virus.

EBOLA VIRUS - First Case of Ebola in U.S.

Government Confirms First Case of Ebola in US

Thomas Frieden
The first case of Ebola diagnosed in the U.S. was confirmed Tuesday in a patient who recently traveled from Liberia to Dallas — a sign of the far-reaching impact of the out-of-control epidemic in West Africa.
The unidentified man was critically ill and has been in isolation at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital since Sunday, federal health officials said. They would not reveal his nationality or age.
Authorities have begun tracking down family, friends and anyone else who may have come in close contact with him and could be at risk for becoming ill. But officials said there are no other suspected cases in Texas.
At the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Director Tom Frieden said the man left Liberia on Sept. 19, arrived the next day to visit relatives and started feeling ill four or five days later. He said it was not clear how the patient became infected.
There was no risk to any fellow airline passengers because the man had no symptoms when he was traveling, Frieden said.
Ebola symptoms can include fever, muscle pain, vomiting and bleeding, and can appear as long as 21 days after exposure to the virus. The disease is not contagious until symptoms begin, and it takes close contact with bodily fluids to spread.
"I have no doubt that we'll stop this in its tracks in the U.S. But I also have no doubt, that as long as the outbreak continues in Africa, we need to be on our guard," Frieden told reporters.
"It is certainly possible that someone who had contact with this individual, a family member or other individual, could develop Ebola in the coming weeks," he added. "But there is no doubt in my mind that we will stop it here."
He said he didn't believe anyone on the same flights as the patient was at risk.
"Ebola doesn't spread before someone gets sick and he didn't get sick until four days after he got off the airplane," Frieden said.
Frieden briefed President Barack Obama by phone about the diagnosis, the White House said.
Word of the infection alarmed the local Liberian community.
"People have been calling, trying to find out if anybody knows the family," said Stanley Gaye, president of the Liberian Community Association of Dallas-Fort Worth. "We've been telling people to try to stay away from social gatherings."
Four American aid workers who became infected in West Africa have been flown back to the U.S. for treatment after they became sick. They were cared for in special isolation facilities at hospitals in Atlanta and Nebraska. Three have recovered.
Also, a U.S. doctor exposed to the virus in Sierra Leone is under observation in a similar facility at the National Institutes of Health.
The U.S. has only four such isolation units. Asked whether the Texas patient would be moved to one of those specialty facilities, Frieden said there was no need and virtually any hospital can provide the proper care and infection control.
Dr. Edward Goodman, an epidemiologist at the hospital, said the U.S. was much better prepared to handle the disease than African hospitals, which are often short of doctors, gloves, gowns and masks.
"We don't have those problems. So we're perfectly capable of taking care of this patient with no risk to other people," Goodman said.
